2018 Rivaura Syrah Winemaker Tasting Notes

Winemaker Tasting Notes

Deep, vibrant purple color. Complex bouquet of blackberry, huckleberry, black cherry, bacon fat, gravel, savory truffle, and forest floor. Broad yet well focused on the palate, showing high flavor complexity: cassis, blackberry, gravel, smoked meat, dark chocolate. The long finish echoes notes of blackberry, gravel, and smoldering incense. This wine shows power and finesse, the slightly firm tannins will resolve nicely over the next 5-7 years as the wine gains even more complexity. The wine should evolve gracefully over the next 12+ years.
