The 2019 Rivaura Rosé has a lovely pale salmon hue. The aromatics lead with notes of strawberry and black currant with supporting notes of minerality, violets, and sage. The palate has an interesting tension between the phenolics from the short-term maceration and the vibrant acidity. The sur lie aging adds lovely palate texture and hints of nuttiness. The palate resonates with notes of black currant, strawberry, red cherry, sage, bay leaf, and tangerine peel. Stony minerality, strawberry, and sage echo on the long finish. This is a lovely rosé that will complement a variety of fish dishes and curries. This fruity yet serious style of rose will appeal to entry-level consumers and collectors alike.
