Winemaker Tasting Notes
Deep ruby-purple color with an effusive bouquet of damson plums, bing cherries, dried sage, wild mint, vanilla, and espresso. The palate is rich and hedonistic showing deft balance between the fruit extract, lively acidity, and silky tannins. The dominant palate notes are of black cherry, black plum, licorice, cigar tobacco, gravel, and dark chocolate with nuances of nutmeg and cardamom. The long finish echoes notes of black plum, dried thyme, and dark chocolate. This wine can be enjoyed in the near term with a decant; it should reach maturity in 7-9 years and gracefully evolve for 12+ years.
