Up-and-Coming Idaho Wine Region
This northern region has plenty to be proud of—like being the birthplace of Idaho wine way back in the 1860s—and lots of opportunity. Located in the Lewis-Clark AVA, Lewiston is home to a small but growing wine scene. The warm days and cool nights in this area are known for producing incredible Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Sangiovese, Chardonnay, and Riesling.
Along with the many wineries in Lewiston, there are many other adventures. Explore the rugged beauty of Hells Canyon, North America’s deepest river gorge, aboard a guided jet boat or rafting charter. Learn the rich history of our region and its first people, the legendary Nimiipuu. Attend one of our eclectic events and plan a stay at one of our many riverside RV Parks and lodges. Discover the Lewis-Clark Valley AVA’s award-winning wine region. We think you’ll find more than a few adventures, and wines, to fall in love with.
Idaho may be one state, but our growing regions are distinctly different. Climate, geographical conditions, and soil content make it possible for vineyards in Idaho to grow a much wider diversity of wines with lots of character and nuance. Cooler, mountainous climates? We’ve got that. Rich, high-desert soil? Yep, we’ve got that too. If we sound proud, it’s because we are. Give it a try and you’ll see why.
We could go on and on about all there is to do here, but for more you really should check out our friends at Visit LC Valley.
