As winter loosens its grip on the Lewis-Clark Valley, the vineyard begins to stir once again along the banks of the Clearwater River. The quiet dormancy of the vines gives way to longer days, warming air, and the first signs of a new growing season. Spring at Rivaura is a time of renewal—both in the vineyard and in the cellar—and with it comes one of our most anticipated moments of the year: the Spring Wine Release!
This release captures the balance between freshness and depth that defines us. The 2025 Rosé of Sangiovese brings vibrancy and energy, offering a crisp, refreshing expression perfect for the warmer days ahead. The 2024 Viognier features aromatics of wildflower honey, apricot, and jasmine, balanced with lingering minerality. It showcases a rich, textured mouthfeel with refreshing acidity and vibrant stone fruit flavors, making it both powerful and refined. These wines reflect the brightness of the season—alive, expressive, and rooted in place.
Alongside the Rosé and Viognier, we introduce a collection of reds that speak to patience, structure, and the evolving character of the Lewis-Clark Valley. The 2021 River Ranch Red showcases a harmonious blend of dark fruit and refined tannins, while the 2023 Syrah delivers depth and savory complexity with its signature spice and power. Rounding out the release, the 2022 Reserve Merlot offers a plush, polished expression—rich yet balanced, with a long, elegant finish.
We are also proud to announce a standout performance at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition from two of these Spring Release wines. The 2021 River Ranch Red earned the distinguished Best of Class award, while the 2023 Syrah took home Double Gold honors. These accolades reflect Rivaura’s unwavering commitment to crafting exceptional wines that consistently earn recognition among the nation’s finest.
Each bottle in this release is a continuation of the story unfolding — shaped by hard work, guided by intention, and crafted with a commitment to quality that begins long before harvest. As we look ahead to the 2026 growing season, already taking shape in the rows, these wines serve as a reflection of where we’ve been and a promise of what’s to come.
We invite members to join us at the estate on April 26th & 27th or in our Coeur d’Alene tasting room on April 30th & May 1st to experience the Spring Release firsthand. Join us at either tasting room event to pick up your allotment. Raise a glass with us to the start of a new season, the energy of renewal, and the continued pursuit of exceptional wine.
Cheers to spring and the wines ahead!
