Ah Veraison! This is an exciting time in the vineyard. Veraison is when we start to see our little baby green-colored grapes turning to red. Veraison marks the onset of ripening in the grapes, and they begin to grow in size and sweeten. Veraison also occurs in white grapes, it is just harder to see! The color change helps protect our grapes from sunburn and other stresses, but it also adds to our stress by making them irresistable to birds, bees, and other critters!
