As our winery continues to grow, so does the next generation carrying that vision forward.
We’re proud to introduce Cooper Hewett, son of Rivaura co-founders Reece and Shannon Hewett and brother to co-winemaker Lane Hewett. Growing up surrounded by vineyards, harvest seasons, and the rhythm of winery life, Cooper has been part of Rivaura from the very beginning. Now, however, he has stepped into a leadership role as Manager of the Rivaura Coeur d’Alene Tasting Room, where he helps guide guests through the wines and story behind the Hewett family’s estate vineyard. While Lane and Vince focus on crafting the wines in the cellar, Cooper brings that work directly to guests through hospitality in Coeur d’Alene. His role centers on creating a welcoming, knowledgeable tasting experience that reflects what Rivaura has always been about: great wine shared in a genuine and relaxed atmosphere.
Rivaura in Downtown Coeur d’Alene
Our Coeur d’Alene tasting room was created to bring the wines of the Lewis-Clark Valley directly to the heart of one of Idaho’s most vibrant destinations. Located in downtown Coeur d’Alene, the tasting room offers visitors a place to slow down, enjoy a flight of wine, and discover the story of our estate vineyard overlooking the Clearwater River.
The space itself is designed to feel both comfortable and refined—an inviting setting where guests can explore Rivaura wines by the glass or bottle while experiencing the hospitality our winery is known for. Many visitors first discover Rivaura here before making the trip south to our estate vineyard in Juliaetta, making the tasting room an important gateway to the Lewis-Clark Valley wine region. With Cooper at the helm accompanied by the indispensable help of the Heinen family (Aaron, Diane and of course Holli) along with Cory Greer, the tasting room has become a place where both longtime wine lovers and newcomers to Idaho wine feel equally at home. Whether someone is stopping in for a casual glass of wine or diving deeper into the nuances of our estate blends, the experience is always centered around conversation, connection, and great wine.
